Unexpected Closure For Newport Harbour Side Restaurant — Just Months After Opening

A popular restaurant in Newport shockingly announced its closure yesterday (Monday) just two months after opening.

The Salterns, based at Island Harbour and previously known at 'The Breeze', was opened by Andrew Watts and Janice Crump from Poole in June.

The closure is thought to be a business decision, with a sign yesterday informing visitors that the eatery will be closed until further notice due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The announcement was made less than a week after the venue made changes to its food serving times.
