Traffic Chaos In Newport After Car Breaks Down Near To B&Q

A breakdown on the St Mary’s Roundabout is causing rush hour traffic chaos in Newport this afternoon (Tuesday).

An eye-witness has said that at around 4.20pm a woman's car broke down near to the set of traffic lights adjacent to B&Q, with another driver unwisely attempting to pass into oncoming traffic from that side of the roundabout.

Island Roads has put a temporary box junction in the area to avoid any further incident, but vehicles have been at a virtual standstill for more than an hour.
