Third Victim Of Shanklin Helicopter Crash Named As Probe Continues

Police have released the identity of the third victim of a fatal helicopter crash on the Isle of Wight.
Officers have confirmed that 54 year old Simon Hewitt from Barton-upon-Humber also died in the crash near Shanklin Road on Monday - which also killed Polish nationals Justyna Czoska and Wojtek Kowalkowski.
His partner and family said:
“Simon was the most wonderful, intelligent, kind man and father. He bought so much joy and light into our lives. we are absolutely broken”
A fourth person in the helicopter, a man aged in his 30’s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Investigators are continuing to work alongside the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and the Coroner to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
Activity at the crash site is expected to be completed by the end of Wednesday 27 August.
