Wightlink is advising customers of temporary changes to its Fishbourne–Portsmouth car ferry service on Sunday 19 October 2025, due to road closures in Portsmouth for the AJ Bell Great South Run.

Between 10am and 2pm, all car ferry sailings will operate to and from Portsmouth International Port (PO2 8SP) instead of the usual Gunwharf Road terminal.

A temporary timetable will be in place during this time.

Wightlink says all customers with affected bookings have already been contacted, and signage will be displayed to help direct vehicles to the alternative terminal.

Foot passengers will not be able to travel on car ferries during this period.

However, the FastCat service between Portsmouth Harbour and Ryde Pier Head will continue to run as normal.

Anyone with questions about the temporary changes can contact Wightlink’s customer service team on 0333 999 7333 (Mon–Fri: 9am–6pm, Sat & Sun: 9am–5pm).

To mark the Great South Run weekend, Wightlink is also offering 20% off ferry travel for runners and supporters travelling to the mainland between 18–20 October 2025.

Wightlink has wished all runners and spectators “a fantastic Great South Run weekend – best of luck and enjoy the event!”
