Teen Arrested After Weekend Fire At Sandown Hotel

A 14-year-old boy from Shanklin has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a fire at the Cygnet Hotel in Sandown on Saturday evening (18 October).

Emergency services were called to the hotel shortly after 6pm, with fire crews quickly tackling the blaze and preventing it from spreading further.

No serious injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The boy has since been conditionally bailed as police continue their investigation.
