Wightlink has confirmed that no vessels are currently permitted to enter or leave Portsmouth Harbour this afternoon (Thursday, 30 October) following a technical fault with the King’s Harbour Master’s computer systems.
The issue is affecting all Portsmouth–Fishbourne car ferry crossings as well as Portsmouth Harbour–Ryde Pier Head FastCat services.
In a statement, Wightlink said it has been informed by the King’s Harbour Master (KHM) that all marine movements are currently suspended while the problem is resolved.
A spokesperson said:
“We’re doing everything we can to get customers to and from the Island.
"We’ve informed all affected passengers and will continue to update our service WhatsApp channel as we receive information from KHM.”
Customers are being advised to check in as normal for their booked sailing time, unless they are notified otherwise.
Travellers can find the latest service updates via Wightlink’s website or its WhatsApp travel alert service.
