Sudden Death Investigated After Cowes Incident

Police are investigating the unexpected death of a woman who was discovered outside a seafront property in Cowes yesterday morning (Saturday).

Emergency services were called to The Parade shortly after 9am, when the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded to reports of a woman found in a courtyard area at Harbour House. Despite the efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed they were notified shortly before 9.30am and that officers attended the property, which overlooks The Solent. The force has described the death as “unexpected” and said enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.

The woman’s next of kin have been informed. A file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

Police say there is currently no further information to release while investigations remain ongoing.
