A networking event with a difference is heading to Godshill next week – and it’s strictly for women.

Freshwalks is hosting its second Walk for Women on Wednesday 24 September, offering a chance for women in business to step away from the desk, enjoy the Island’s countryside, and connect with others in a relaxed setting.

The four-mile circular route begins at The Old Smithy at 10.30am (meet at 10.15am) and showcases some of the Isle of Wight’s most scenic spots.

Walkers will follow the peaceful Stenbury Trail, pass open fields and historic Great Budbridge Manor, before returning via a disused railway line now alive with wildflowers and birdsong, finishing back in picturesque Godshill.

Claire Beasley, Isle of Wight Freshwalks co-ordinator, explained:

“Freshwalks is always a safe space for women in business to walk and talk, sharing both personal and professional challenges.

"But feedback tells us that in a female-only environment, some women feel even more relaxed and able to express themselves authentically.

"The popularity of our Walks for Women format suggests this approach really works.”

The walk costs £18 (including VAT and booking fee) and will be led by Claire and Rachael Richards. Advance booking is essential via Freshwalks’ website.

For those who prefer mixed events, the next co-ed Freshwalk will take place in Freshwater Bay on 9 October.
