One of the Isle of Wight Council’s most senior figures, Colin Rowland, has announced he will be leaving his role as Strategic Director for Community Services on 31 March 2026.

Colin has served the Island for seven years, overseeing key infrastructure projects and helping to shape local services.

He said his decision followed “careful reflection” and a wish to pursue new opportunities.

“It has been an honour to serve the Island community and work alongside such dedicated colleagues,” he said.
“I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and will do everything I can to ensure a smooth handover before moving on to new challenges.”

Council Chief Executive Wendy Perera paid tribute to Mr Rowland’s contribution, highlighting his role in delivering major projects and strengthening services to meet residents’ needs.
