The second Isle of Wight Writers Jamboree takes place on Thursday 9 February from 6pm to 9pm at the Island Sailing Club in Cowes.

The annual event brings together Island writers for a night of networking, discussion, and celebration of local literary talent.

Organised by Medina Bookshop in collaboration with Creative Island and the IW Creative Network, the event will feature brief talks on opportunities for Island writers locally, across the south, and nationwide.

Representatives from Naked Figleaf Press, Brevity, Lemon Jelly and Hampshire’s Artful Scribe will also be on hand.

Attendees can learn about initiatives such as the search for an Isle of Wight Poet Laureate, the ‘Can You Hear Us’ cultural celebration, this year’s IW Book Awards, and the Story and Literary Festival.

Founder Paul Armfield said:

“This isn’t a commercial event – it’s a chance for writers to meet, chat, and find out what’s happening on the Island.
"Last year over 100 writers came, and this year looks set to be even bigger.”

Tickets are £5, including a cone of fish and chips (or vegan alternative), or free for IW Creative Network members.

For tickets and more information, visit the Medina Bookshop website.
