Residents and businesses in Ryde are being encouraged to share their ideas on how millions of pounds of Government funding should be spent to improve the town.

Members of the Ryde Neighbourhood Board will be hosting a series of drop-in sessions at The Department in Cross Street from 12th to 20th June, giving people the opportunity to learn more about the Pride in Place programme and discuss potential projects.

The Government has allocated £19.5million to Ryde over the next decade through the scheme, which aims to support long-term improvements across the town.

Visitors to the sessions will also be able to find out more about the board's Community Grants programme, which offers funding of up to £20,000 for local projects.

Lisa Gagliani, chair of the Ryde Neighbourhood Board's communications and engagement committee, said the sessions were another opportunity for residents and businesses to have their say on how the funding should be used.

She added that there had already been strong interest in the grants programme and that board members would be available to offer advice to anyone considering an application.

The drop-in sessions will run from 9:30am to 5:50pm, Tuesday to Saturday, at The Department in Cross Street.

Further information about the Pride in Place programme, Community Grants scheme and the Ryde Neighbourhood Board is available on the organisation's website.
