Riverfest is taking place in Newport Quay today, with families from across the Island expected to attend a full day of entertainment, live performances and community activities.
The annual event runs from 10am until 4pm and is organised by the Newport Carnival and Community Events Association.
The Quay will host a range of arts and crafts traders, charity stalls and market vendors, alongside food outlets and an onsite bar.
Children can enjoy face painting, fairground rides and a live magic and illusion show, while emergency services will be on site and the Wolfguard Vikings return to entertain crowds.
On the main stage, the Vectis Corps of Drums Marching Band will open proceedings before the crowning of Newport Carnival Royalty.
Performances throughout the afternoon include Ali’s Fitness Fusion, Steve and Magic Kai, and the Boogie-Woogie Bluebirds 1940s Trio, with Honky-Tonk Highway closing the programme.
Elsewhere, the Medina Marching Band and the Fat Samba Band will perform around the site.
Organisers have spent the past four months preparing the event, which is due to finish at 4pm.
