In honour of Remembrance Sunday (8 November) and Remembrance Day (11 November), Red Funnel is offering free foot passenger ferry travel for all past and present members of the UK Armed Forces.
The offer applies across Red Funnel’s entire fleet for travel on Saturday 8, Sunday 9 and Tuesday 11 November, to and from the Isle of Wight.
To claim the free travel, passengers simply need to visit a Red Funnel ticket office and present one of the following: a MOD Form 90 ID card (including expired cards for veterans), a UK Armed Forces Veteran ID Card, a Veterans Railcard, or a Defence Discount Card.
Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, said:
“Remembrance Day gives us a chance to come together as a nation and honour all who have served and those continuing to do so.
"We hold immense respect for the commitment and sacrifices made by our Armed Forces, and this small gesture is a token of our gratitude.
“As a mark of respect, we will also be observing a minute’s silence across all our vessels to honour their extraordinary service.”
Red Funnel is also supporting the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, with poppies available for passengers to collect at all terminals until 11 November.
This year, the charity hopes to raise more than £50 million to support members of the UK’s Armed Forces community.
