Prison Officer Seriously Injured After Hot Water Attack At HMP Isle Of Wight

A prison officer has been seriously assaulted at HMP Isle of Wight after an inmate allegedly threw hot water over him — the second serious incident at the prison in just over a week.

The attack is understood to have taken place at around 4pm on Wednesday (November 26) when the officer was doused in the face and neck with hot water.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed the incident, saying:

“We received a report on 28 November that a man in his 40s was assaulted at HMP Isle of Wight on Wednesday 26 November.

"An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
