Portsmouth Comic Con is set to return to Portsmouth Guildhall on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May, with organisers promising a packed programme of entertainment for fans of comic, film, TV and pop culture.
The family-friendly event will feature immersive sets, celebrity guests, comic book creators, and interactive zones across the weekend.
Among the headline attractions is a major Star Wars Experience, where visitors can step through themed environments including Tatooine and encounter characters such as Jedi, Stormtroopers and Ewoks, alongside photo opportunities inspired by the franchise.
New for this year is a Nerf Arena, included in the ticket price, alongside a LEGO Zone, a Jurassic-themed area, and hands-on workshops including fossil painting sessions.
A major feature for 2026 is the Thronefest Collection, described as Europe’s largest privately-owned collection of replica Game of Thrones props, including swords, crowns and the Iron Throne itself, guarded by a Night King character for photo opportunities.
The popular Portsmouth Ghostbusters team also return with their largest-ever “Mass Hysteria Zone”, featuring a 15-foot Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, a firehouse walkthrough and interactive displays.
There will also be an increased focus on education and awareness, with diabetes specialists from Queen Alexandra Hospital, University Hospital Southampton and DiaFight attending to highlight Type 1 diabetes through comics and gaming.
Book fans will be able to explore a dedicated Bookish Block, featuring author signings, pop-up bookshops, swaps and talks, with names including Juno Dawson, Maggie Stiefvater and Jennifer Thorne among those appearing.
Fantasy readers can also explore a dedicated “Court of Fantasy & Fae” area, featuring themed displays, tarot readings and immersive experiences for romantasy fans.
Celebrity guests confirmed include Tom Rosenthal, Anita Dobson, Patricia Quinn, Marc Silk, Jemma Redgrave and Julian Glover.
Organisers say Artists Alley will once again showcase leading comic creators and illustrators from across the industry, with panels, workshops and opportunities to meet artists and purchase original work.
Evening entertainment will include an official Comic Con after-party at Hampshire Boulevard, while live music will also feature across the weekend.
Portsmouth Comic Con is one of the UK’s largest family-friendly pop culture events, bringing together interactive experiences, exhibitions and appearances from across the entertainment world.
Tickets are available via the official Portsmouth Comic Con website.
