Police Release CCTV Image After Incidents In Sandown

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following two shoplifting incidents at Tesco Express on The Fairway in Sandown.


On Monday, 2 February, at around 9.55am, a man entered the store, picked up two bottles of wine and left at around 10am without paying.


The same person returned to the store two days later, on Wednesday, 4 February, at approximately 8.45pm.


On this occasion, he picked up wine and meat products before leaving the shop at around 8.50pm without paying.


Following enquiries, officers have now released an image of a man who was seen in the area at the time and may be able to assist with their investigation.


He is described as:


  • Between 30 and 40 years old

  • Large build

  • Dark hair

  • Wearing a black hooded top and black trousers


Anyone who recognises this man or who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious is asked to call 101, quoting reference 44260056260.


Police are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell camera footage that may help with enquiries.
