Police Car Crashes Through Railings On Ryde Pier

A police car has broken through railings on Ryde Pier, leaving two officers trapped inside the vehicle.

The incident happened shortly before 10.15am this morning (Tuesday), with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary Volvo left in a precarious position.

The vehicle has sustained significant damage to its front, and there are concerns about its stability if the officers attempt to get out.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene, with firefighters working to stabilise the car.

No injuries are currently thought to have been sustained.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, including whether the police vehicle was responding with its blue lights and sirens activated.
