Police Appeal After Shanklin Man Dies Following Arreton Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 80-year-old man from Shanklin has died in hospital following a serious crash on the A3056 at Arreton.


The collision happened at around 2:15pm on Wednesday 20th August between Arreton and Horringford and involved a Skoda Kamiq and a Citroën C3.


The driver of the Citroën suffered serious injuries and later passed away. Two people travelling in the Skoda received only minor injuries.


Officers are now urging anyone who saw the incident, or who may have dash cam footage, to come forward.


A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said:


“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or events leading up to it. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting reference 44250376934, or submit details via our online portal.”


Police enquiries remain ongoing.
