Plans have been submitted to build three new homes on greenfield land on the edge of Niton.
Applicants Mr and Mrs Willis are seeking outline planning permission for a bungalow and two chalet-style homes at Ladyacre Farm on Pan Lane.
The proposed properties would provide two to three bedrooms and, according to planning documents submitted by agents TF Property Solutions, would help meet local housing demand.
The application includes a shared driveway with access from Pan Lane, along with two parking spaces for each home.
Planning documents describe the site as greenfield land with strong rural characteristics that has most recently been used for animal grazing.
The proposed design aims to retain existing hedgerows, particularly those bordering Pan Lane, while protecting mature trees on the site.
The plans also state the homes would reflect Niton's historic and rural character and take account of the site's location close to the Isle of Wight National Landscape.
The applicants say the development has also been designed to safeguard the amenities of neighbouring properties.
Members of the public can comment on planning application 26/00729/OUT until 31st July, with a decision expected by the Isle of Wight Council on 26th August.
