Overturned Car Blocks Cowleaze Hill Between Shanklin And Ventnor

An overturned car has caused disruption on the main road between Shanklin and Ventnor this morning (Wednesday).


Emergency services arrived at the scene on Cowleaze Hill, where a single-vehicle collision occurred around 8:30am.


A man suffered minor injuries in the incident.


The road has been closed in both directions, and drivers travelling between the two towns are being asked to divert via Wroxall, which has recently reopened.


Southern Vectis Route 3 buses have also been affected and diverting from Ventnor through Upper Ventnor and Wroxall to Whiteley Bank and Victoria Avenue into Shanklin.


A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

"We were called at 8:04am today to a report of a road traffic collision on Cowleaze Hill.
"A man suffered minor injuries."

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow diversion routes.
