Cowes Week visitors are being promised a packed programme of entertainment as Northwood House prepares to become one of the Island’s biggest social hubs during this year’s historic regatta celebrations.
As Cowes Week marks its 200th anniversary, the town’s much-loved venue will host a week of live music, family entertainment, food, drink and special events from its stunning grounds just a short walk from the waterfront.
The popular Musto Lawn Bar will once again provide a central meeting point for visitors, while the Tea Garden, Fun Fair and evening entertainment will offer something for all ages throughout the week.
Northwood House has established itself as a key destination during Cowes Week in recent years, and organisers say this year’s schedule will be one of the biggest yet.
The celebrations get underway on Saturday 1st August with a huge opening party featuring Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay.
Dance music fans will be able to enjoy a night with legendary DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold on Wednesday 5th August, while Firework Friday on 7th August will see TV personality Craig Charles bring his famous Funk & Soul Club to Cowes.
Comedy legend Jasper Carrott will also appear on Sunday 2nd August, following a free family afternoon on the lawn hosted by Isle of Wight Radio.
The week will then conclude with a special proms-style finale on Sunday 9th August, featuring G4’s Mike Christie, following a performance from Island favourites Plastic Mermaids on Saturday 8th August.
With world-class sailing taking place on the water and a full calendar of entertainment on shore, organisers say Northwood House will be the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere of one of the Island’s biggest annual events.
