Newport Road Blocked Following Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Niton

The main road into Niton is blocked this lunchtime (Thursday) following a multi-vehicle crash.

Police and ambulance crews are at the scene on Newport Road after what is understood to have been a head-on collision shortly after midday.

The collision happened between Southford Lane and Kingates Lane in the hamlet of Bierley.

Newport Road is currently impassable in both directions, with motorists being urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route while emergency services deal with the incident.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for further information.
