Motorcyclist In His 60s Suffers Serious Injury In Military Road Crash

A motorcyclist in his 60s was taken to hospital with a serious injury following a crash on Military Road in Chale yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

Police were called at 12:43pm to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.

Ambulance crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service attended the scene alongside the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, which was deployed from its Southampton Airport base shortly after 1pm.

The rider received treatment at the scene before being taken to St Mary’s Hospital.

A temporary road closure was put in place on Military Road while emergency services dealt with the incident and carried out recovery work.

The road later reopened to traffic.

No further details have been released by police about the circumstances surrounding the collision.
