Medina Bookshop in Cowes is hosting a special evening on Wednesday 23rd April at 7:00pm, celebrating bold, complex, and compelling female characters in contemporary fiction.
The event, titled “Why Women Of A Certain Age Make The Best Characters,” brings together three acclaimed authors for a lively discussion.
Authors Julia Tuffs and Amy Beashel will be in conversation with Kate Weston, exploring the richness and authenticity of women’s stories shaped by experience, resilience, and reinvention.
Julia Tuffs, with strong Isle of Wight connections, often writes about relationships and the layered realities of women’s lives.
Amy Beashel’s work blends humour and insight, exploring modern womanhood and identity, while Kate Weston will chair the discussion and guide the conversation on overlapping themes in their novels.
The evening will include audience Q&A, giving readers a chance to hear directly from the authors about their creative processes and inspirations.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from Medina Bookshop in-store or online. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
