Man Taken To Hospital Following Near Ten-Hour Police Stand-Off At Culver Cliff

A man is in hospital following an incident at Culver Cliff this morning (Wednesday) which saw emergency services in attendance for nearly 10 hours.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed:

"(We) were called at 6.21pm with concerns for the welfare of a man at Culver Cliff.

"Police attended and engaged with a man for a number of hours, before he was taken to hospital at around 4am."

Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue teams attended, with Bembridge RNLI's inshore lifeboat launched.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also responded to the call.
