Man Charged Following Death Of One-Year-Old Girl On Isle Of Wight

A second person has today (Tuesday) been charged following the death of one-year-old Jayla-Jean McLaren.

Adrian David Lawton, 31, of Dairy Crest Drive in Newport, has been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.

He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow (11 February).

Samara Jay Glover, 27, of Dairy Crest Drive in Newport, was previously charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child.

She has been remanded in custody ahead of a court hearing next month.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

"We continue to ask people not to speculate on this case, as it could potentially impact any future court proceedings."
