Man Arrested Following Jewellery Theft In Newport

Police have arrested a man in connection with a burglary at T.M. Barber Jewellers on Newport High Street earlier this month.
The incident happened at around 9.40am on Thursday 11 September, when a gold chain was stolen after being shown to a member of staff.
Following an appeal for witnesses, a 36-year-old man from Newport has now been arrested on suspicion of theft. He remains in custody at this time.
Police have thanked the public for sharing their appeal and assisting with enquiries.
