Man Arrested After Woman Airlifted To Hospital Following Serious Military Road Crash

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple motoring offences after a woman was airlifted to hospital following a serious crash in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police were called at around 12:15am to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Military Road, between Brook and Freshwater Bay.
At the scene, officers found a 30-year-old woman had suffered injuries to her leg and chest.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was deployed from its Thruxton base, landing in a field off Military Road at Compton.
The air ambulance remained on scene for around an hour before taking the woman to Southampton General Hospital at approximately 2:30am.
Police have since confirmed her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving, drug driving, driving without a licence, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving whilst unfit through drink.
He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
