Man Arrested After Incident At Yaverland Car Park

Police were called to Yaverland Car Park in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) following reports of a verbal altercation between a man and a woman.

Officers attended the scene, located between Bembridge and Sandown, where both individuals were found.

An allegation of assault was subsequently made by the woman.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and remains in police custody at this time.

It is understood the two individuals are known to each other.

The car park was temporarily closed while officers dealt with the incident.
