Lake Hill Reopens After Motorcycle Crash

Lake Hill reopened late last night following a serious collision involving a motorcycle which left the rider and pillion passenger on the road.
The crash happened shortly before 7.20pm on Monday, with emergency services responding to the scene.
The motorcycle rider, a man, was found injured in the middle of the road, while a second man who had been travelling as the pillion passenger was on the pavement.
Police subsequently closed Lake Hill in both directions, with motorists diverted via Perowne Way.
Southern Vectis Routes 2, 3 and 8 were also diverted while the road remained shut.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service continued treating the motorcyclist at the scene for almost an hour after the collision.
Firefighters from Shanklin and Ventnor also attended to support the ambulance service.
A cordon was put in place while emergency crews treated those involved and carried out investigations at the scene.
The injured casualty was eventually taken to hospital for treatment.
Lake Hill reopened in both directions at around 9.24pm.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is expected to provide further information about the collision on Tuesday morning.
