A group of talented students from Theatretrain Isle of Wight have wowed audiences at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall, performing in We’re Gonna Change the World — a spectacular nationwide production showcasing the voices and vision of young people today.
On stage for almost the entire show, the Isle of Wight performers impressed with their stamina and versatility — delivering powerful acting, energetic dance routines, and outstanding choral performances.
Their passion and professionalism lit up the stage, earning them a prolonged standing ovation from a sell-out crowd.
Theatretrain’s Artistic Director, Kevin Dowsett, hailed the production as a triumph:
“We’re Gonna Change the World was a triumph! Performed to a sell-out audience, the show ended in a prolonged standing ovation – a real testament to the energy, teamwork, and talent of everyone involved.
"This show wasn’t just entertainment – it was a celebration of growth, imagination, and the Theatretrain spirit.”
Standout moments included renditions of Surface Pressure, Born This Way, Fragile, Trouble in the Water, and a stirring finale of The Climb, which captured the production’s message of unity, hope, and the power of young people to inspire change.
Company Director, Julie Caudle, added her praise for the Island cast:
“I am so proud of our students.
"To see them perform at such an iconic venue, with such professionalism and confidence, was inspiring.
"They rose to the challenge brilliantly and gave a performance they’ll never forget.”
And there’s little time to rest — the young cast are now busy preparing for their next big challenge: Kinky Boots at Shanklin Theatre on 29 & 30 November 2025.
Building on the success of recent hits including Footloose, Elf, and We Will Rock You, this year’s show promises to be one of their most ambitious yet.
