Isle of Wight–based technology provider WRS has been named Business Enabler of the Year at the 2025 British Business Excellence Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Judges unanimously selected the Newport-headquartered company for redefining business enablement by helping hospitality and retail operators work more efficiently, grow faster and deliver stronger customer experiences through its innovative point-of-sale and technology solutions.

Hosted by ITV’s Ranvir Singh, the awards night celebrated standout achievements in British business.

Guests enjoyed performances from Lucy, the ten-year-old blind pianist featured on Channel 4’s The Piano, entertainment from comedian Josh Berry, and a surprise keynote from journalist Louis Theroux, along with a recorded message from Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

WRS’ win in the category — sponsored by Dext — stood out among a strong field of finalists. The event also saw Warburtons named Family Business of the Year.

Founded on the Isle of Wight, WRS has grown into a leading national provider of POS technology and business systems, supporting bars, restaurants, universities, ferries, retailers and venues across the UK.

Its client list includes Costa Coffee, Cornish Bakery, Southampton FC, Wightlink and Red Funnel. Judges highlighted the company’s “customer-first mindset, continuous innovation and commitment to long-term partnerships” as key to its success.

Chief Executive Officer David Jackson said:

“This award is a tremendous honour for everyone at WRS.
"We are incredibly proud of our Isle of Wight roots, and to be recognised on a national stage while supporting clients across the UK — and increasingly internationally — is something we value greatly.
“Our growth has been built on hard work, innovation and a commitment to enabling our clients to thrive.
"This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our brilliant team and the trust our clients place in us every day.”

The award marks another major milestone for WRS as it continues its mission to deliver “one system, every possibility” for hospitality and retail businesses nationwide.
