With only weeks to go until Christmas Day, Isle of Wight musician ugly ozo has released a brand new cover of a classic song by Eartha Kitt.
Santa Baby is available to stream now and pays homage to the original song, which came out in 1953.
ugly ozo’s latest release was mixed and produced by Macks Faulkron, the owner of record label Rex Recs.
You can listen to Santa Baby by ugly ozo below:
Speaking about the single, ugly ozo said:Â
"Under a dim light on a frosty winter evening, the studio felt like Christmas.
"I started playing Santa Baby, and a few hours and a couple of wines later, our cover was born.Â
“It’s my all time favourite Christmas song, and my producer Macks and I gave it a signature ugly ozo twist, recording the intro on a single mic above a drum kit before diving into a rock and roll guitar solo. It's ugly ozo meets Eartha Kitt"
ugly ozo - the stage name of Jess Baker - released their debut EP in October after becoming the first artist signed to Rex Recs in May.
This year, they performed at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival and Southampton’s Wanderlust Festival, as well as concerts all across the UK.
Next month, ugly ozo will perform at the famous 100 Club in London as part of a concert organised by music magazine Dork.
This comes after Jess and co were named in Dork’s Hype List 2026, which highlights upcoming artists.
