Welcome to your Isle of Wight Radio December events roundup — a festive mix of community markets, Christmas cheer, family fun, and local culture.


Whether you’re after handmade gifts, live music, a seasonal run or time out with loved ones, there’s plenty happening on the Island this December.


Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival

WHEN: Thurs 4 to Sun 7 December

WHERE: Various venues in Brighstone, Mottistone and surrounding areas.

WHAT: Stroll among 150+ beautifully decorated Christmas trees across Brighstone and Mottistone, enjoy craft stalls, musical entertainment, a charity tractor‑ride “ride out”, and maybe even meet Santa.


I Love Wight Christmas Market

WHEN: Sat 6 & Sun 7 December

WHERE: Newchurch (The Garlic Farm)

WHAT: Expect artisan stalls, festive music, mulled wine and a great chance to pick up local handmade gifts and seasonal treats.


Tapnell Farm Christmas

WHEN: Friday 6 to Tues 23 December

WHERE: Tapnell Farm

WHAT: A magical Christmas village experience for families - festive decorations, crafts, meeting Santa, and plenty of seasonal fun.


West Wight Chilly Hilly

WHEN: Sunday 14 December (for specific times click this link)

WHERE: Starts and finishes at West Wight Sports Community Centre

WHAT: A 10‑mile winter run across West Wight’s coast, clifftops and countryside — a brilliant way to exercise, enjoy winter scenery, and kick off the festive season.


Symphonix Christmas

WHEN: Saturday 20 December (doors 6:30pm, concert starts 7:30pm).

WHERE: All Saints’ Church, Ryde

WHAT: A festive orchestral show featuring classic and modern holiday tunes — perfect for getting into the Christmas spirit.


Isle of Wight Steam Railway Santa Specials

WHEN: selected dates from 13–14 December and 20–24 December

WHERE: Steam Railway, Havenstreet

WHAT: Ride through a winter wonderland on the steam railway, enjoy fairground rides and festive entertainment — great for families and nostalgia lovers.
