Isle Of Wight Fostering Service Relaunched As Foster Together

The Isle of Wight Council's fostering service has been relaunched under a new name following feedback from foster carers, children and young people and other organisations involved in the service.

It's now called Foster Together.

The council says the new identity is designed to better reflect the role of the wider community in supporting children and young people, while making the service more modern and inclusive.

The rebrand follows a consultation based around the principle of "You Said, We Listened, We Did".

The council says its commitment to finding safe and loving homes for Island children remains unchanged.

Foster carers, families, social workers, schools, health professionals and other organisations all play a role in supporting children in care.

The new branding was created by the Isle of Wight Council's own Communications and Design Team, meaning there was no additional cost to the council or local residents.

Kay Jones, Service Director for Children's Social Care, said the new name reflected the importance of people working together to create a supportive community around children and young people.

Councillor Andrew Garratt, Vice Chair for the Children's Services, Education and Skills Committee, thanked foster carers for the role they play and said the council wanted to continue recruiting and supporting local carers.

The council says this will help more Island children remain close to their families, schools and communities.
