Families across the Isle of Wight now have greater choice in supporting loved ones, after local company Safeguard Technologies was approved for membership of the Telecare Services Association (TSA).
The company, which provides personal alarms and GPS-enabled safety devices, was also invited to attend the International Technology Enabled Care Conference at the International Convention Centre, where the latest innovations in telecare were showcased.
As the Island’s only independent provider of these devices, Safeguard Technologies says it is focused on giving residents more ways to stay safe, whether at home or out and about.
Director Sandra Knowles said:
“Families want reassurance, but they also want independence for their loved ones.
"It’s about giving people the right level of support without taking away their freedom.
"There isn’t a single solution that works for everyone, so having choice is really important.”
The company now plans to work more closely with local care providers and community organisations to expand support for Island residents.
