June is a busy month for the Isle of Wight's activity calendar, with the IW Festival and other major events taking place here.


In addition to those, there are several other notable events worth checking out, here are a few to keep your peepers peeled for.


The 5k Wight Cane Walk

Alamo Bar and Grill and (start and finish)

Sponsored walk/quiz: £2 per person


Event information:

  • Sponsored walk from the Alamo Ryde to the Boathouse and back, all while holding a giant white cane!

  • All are welcome but you must register so we know how long to make the cane.

  • All money raised will go to the research fund of Retina UK.


Wellbeing Day at Landguard Manor

Jane Austen in Hampshire: Naval connections and holidays by the sea

  • Helen Howe from the Jane Austen Society is giving a talk at Lord Louis Library on Jane Austen in Hampshire as part of the 250 anniversary celebrations.

Aspire Fun Dog Show

Free Entry pay per class


Event information:

  • Aspire Fun Dog Show raising money for Aspire Ryde.

  • Stalls, raffle, spot the dog, hot and cold food, toy tombola and ice-cream all raising money for a great cause.



FOCAS Fest at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary

£2.50 online, £5 on the door

  • FOCAS Fest aims to help make science and conservation more accessible to all children, bringing both to life in a fun and imaginative way.

  • On Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th June people will have exclusive access to the Sanctuary for just £2.50 per person.

  • Two sessions on each day of FOCAS FEST: 28th June, 9:30am to 1pm and 1:30pm to 5pm 29th June, 9:30am to 1pm and 1:30pm to 5pm.
