July saw the wonderful annual celebration of the arts take place at Ventnor Fringe, while the Chilerton Flower Show also captivated those who visited.


As we head into August, a whole new calendar of events is upon the horizon, here's a peek at some of the most notable ones.


Summer Fest at Blackgang Chine

Get ready to dance the night away as the family party returns to Blackgang Chine for summer 2025!


Watch as the sun sets behind the cliffs and Blackgang Chine sparks to life every Wednesday evening between the 30th July and the 27th August.


Summer Fest is a family night not to be missed, but there are also attractions for grown-ups to enjoy as well.

The popular Sunrise Breakfasts are returning to the Sanctuary this summer.


Doors will be opening from 8:30am, so you can have a delicious breakfast while enjoying a rare early morning encounter with our rescued animals - including new arrivals, brown bears Benji and Balu.


Your ticket includes access to the Sanctuary from 8:30am to 10am and a delicious freshly made grab ‘n’ go breakfast and hot drink.


Parking is free for this event. Please enter your car registration when booking your tickets.

Cowes Week 2025 is scheduled to take place from August 2 to 8.


This event will feature up to 1,000 boats and 8,000 competitors participating in numerous races each day.

PIer to Pier Walk

Event information

The yearly Pier to Pier walk is part of Shanklin Carnival week, starting from The Steamer Inn in Shanklin and walking to Sandown Pier and back to the Steamer, under the moonlight.


On the return you will be awarded your medal and a BBQ will be available at the Steamer (kindly donated by WA Foods).


All money raised will go to Aspire a community charity based in Ryde but working across the Island, supporting those less vulnerable.


Registration is from 8pm.

Come and enjoy a fabulous day out amongst a gathering of about 300 cars, truly splendid cars and vehicles of all types, both vintage and modern.


With a full day of live music and children’s entertainment, it’s a family day out not to be missed.


Entry for display vehicles between 7.30am – 9.45am.


Show opens at 10am for pedestrians.
