Islanders Invited To Walk Over Red-Hot Coals For Animal Charities

Brave Islanders are being challenged to walk barefoot over red-hot embers at Robin Hill this month to raise money for the RSPCA Isle of Wight and Cats Protection.
The RSPCA Isle of Wight Fire Walk Challenge takes place at Robin Hill Adventure Park on Friday, October 16, with the two animal charities joining forces for the first time.
Participants will receive expert-led training before attempting the fire walk, which begins at around 7pm. No previous experience is needed.
The event runs from 5pm to 8pm, with free entry to the park for participants and supporters from 3pm.
The RSPCA Isle of Wight hopes to raise £10,000, with participants encouraged to collect around £100 in sponsorship each.
However, there is no compulsory minimum fundraising target.
Money raised will help both charities provide shelter, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and care for vulnerable animals.
Rebecca Busby, Marketing and Fundraising Officer at the RSPCA Isle of Wight, said the event was an opportunity to bring Islanders together while supporting animals in need.
She took part in last year's fire walk herself, describing it as a thrilling experience.
The challenge is open to people aged 18 and over, with places limited. Tickets cost £25 per person.
Registration opens at 5pm, followed by fire walk training at 6pm and the challenge itself at around 7pm.
