Island Groups Invited To Apply For Wightlink Sponsorship

Sports teams, arts groups, youth organisations and environmental projects on the Isle of Wight are being invited to apply for Wightlink sponsorship for 2027.

The Wightlink in the Community scheme provides discounted cross-Solent travel, helping Island groups compete, perform, train and take part in events on the mainland.

The scheme focuses particularly on projects supporting young people, with applications open to youth sports teams, arts, music and theatre groups, and environmental and conservation organisations.

Wightlink supported 35 Island groups through the scheme in 2026, alongside 10 charities and 82 individuals through the Isle of Wight Council Talented Athlete Scheme.

Applications for 2027 support are open until October 31, covering eligible travel between January 1 and December 31 next year.
