Island Windows has partnered with REHAU Recycling to recycle old window frames, reducing landfill waste on the Isle of Wight.
Removed polymer frames are now collected and transported to REHAU’s Runcorn-based recycling plant, PVCR, where more than 13,000 tonnes of post-consumer windows and doors are processed each year and reused in new products.
The move replaces a previous small-scale local disposal arrangement and is designed to cut waste and lower costs.
Island Windows says it has also extended the scheme to other Island glaziers to support more sustainable practices.
The partnership aims to ensure old frames are responsibly recycled rather than sent to landfill, supporting a more circular approach to materials use.
