Two Isle of Wight businesses, NOSY Creative Agency and WRS, are teaming up to host a special festive edition of Rubbish Networking in Newport on Thursday 11th December.
Rubbish Networking is a simple idea: bring people together for an hour of light litter-picking and informal conversation, helping to improve shared public spaces while strengthening local connections.
The Festive edition aims to bring some seasonal goodwill to the town centre, with residents and businesses invited to take part.
The event is open to everyone, with no experience needed.
Volunteers will meet at Scarrots Lane from 2pm for a 2:30pm start.
Litter-picking equipment will be provided in collaboration with another Island business, Betapak, who will also responsibly dispose of the collected rubbish afterwards.
After the clean-up, participants are invited back to the new NOSY office in Newport for mulled wine and festive treats.
Matt Greg, founder of NOSY, said the afternoon is “a simple way for businesses to give something back while connecting with others in a low-pressure setting”.
Sophie Jackson, Chief Operating Officer at WRS, added:
“We’re pleased to be supporting an event that benefits both the town and the wider business community.
"It is a small commitment that makes a visible difference, and it’s a great way to meet people while doing something positive.”
