Investigation Underway Following Reported Rape Of 16 Year-Old Girl In Newport

Officers are investigating the reported rape of a 16-year-old girl at an address in Newport and have arrested a 20-year-old man from Newport as part of our enquiries.

The victim is being supported by specialist officers after we received the report shortly before 11pm on Saturday 7 June.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and stalking. He has been bailed until 8 September while enquiries continue.
