Islanders are being urged to take precautions as a heat health warning remains in place ahead of what forecasters say could be the hottest spell of the year so far.
The warning covers the Isle of Wight and comes as temperatures are expected to rise significantly over the weekend before peaking on Monday and Tuesday.
Health officials warn that the hot weather could have serious impacts on vulnerable people, including older residents, those with underlying health conditions and people living alone.
The wider population could also be affected, with an increased risk of sunburn, dehydration, heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses.
With many people expected to head to the Island's beaches and coastline, there are also concerns about water safety incidents.
Residents are being advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day between 11am and 3pm, and seek shade where possible.
Those heading out are encouraged to wear sunscreen, lightweight clothing and a wide-brimmed hat.
People are also being asked to check in on vulnerable friends, relatives and neighbours to ensure they are keeping cool and drinking enough fluids.
The hot weather could also lead to travel disruption and increased pressure on infrastructure, with a small risk of power outages and delays to transport services.
Anyone planning journeys over the coming days is advised to check travel information before setting off.
Forecasters say temperatures could climb into the low 30s Celsius on the Isle of Wight early next week, with warm and humid nights offering little relief from the heat.
Anyone concerned about their health, or that of somebody else, is advised to contact NHS 111.

Really nice write-up. The content was organized well and easy to understand.
Personally, I've had a good experience with CPSGames because everything loads quickly and is easy to find. That's one reason I keep coming back for online gaming during breaks.
