Runners of all ages are lacing up for the return of the Nettlestone RAT Race this Sunday (28 September).
The much-loved community fun run takes participants through the stunning coastal scenery of Nettlestone and Seaview, with three routes on offer: a five-mile course, a 5km route, and a 600m dash for children. Races begin from 10am.
Now firmly back on the calendar after the pandemic, the RAT Race — short for Road and Trail — has quickly become a highlight of the Island’s running circuit.
Race organiser Sarah Peake, from the Friends of Nettlestone School, said:
“It’s an incredible, fun and friendly event for all ages, but it’s the inclusive nature of the run — with all generations lining up together — that makes the RAT Race so special.”
Money raised will go towards supporting Nettlestone Primary School, funding trips, resources and extra-curricular activities.
Late entries will be accepted on the day, but runners are encouraged to pre-register online here.
