Island residents can now book a free in-depth home energy visit through a new national initiative being delivered locally by Green Isle of Wight CIC as part of the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) programme.
The scheme provides one-to-one support to help households cut energy bills, stay warm, and improve home comfort — particularly through the colder months.
A trained Home Energy Advisor will visit homes to assess energy use, offer tailored advice, and install simple energy-saving measures such as LED bulbs, draught-proofing, and radiator panels, all free of charge.
Residents may also be able to access additional help through the visit, including insulation, heating upgrades, income advice, or support with boiler repairs and replacement white goods.
Lisa Beaney, Director of Green Isle of Wight, said:
“These in-depth visits can make a real and immediate difference for households — not only helping people save money, but also making homes warmer, safer and more comfortable.
"So often the Isle of Wight is excluded from national schemes because of our location, so we’ve worked hard to ensure residents here don’t miss out.”
Islanders can apply at bit.ly/LEAP-IOW or by calling 668900.
