Families looking for free ways to keep children entertained this May half term are being encouraged to visit Isle of Wight libraries, where a packed programme of activities is taking place across the Island.

Libraries in Ryde, Newport, Cowes, Sandown, Freshwater and Ventnor will host a range of events including storytelling sessions, arts and crafts and hands-on workshops.

Activities include story sessions with children’s author Lizzie Boynton at Ryde Library, tiger mask-making in Newport inspired by the Art on Your Doorstep trail, monster-making workshops in Cowes and a variety of themed craft sessions.

The programme also includes activities for older children, including teen rock painting sessions at Lord Louis Library.

Organisers say there is something for all ages, with events designed to encourage creativity and keep children busy during the school break.

Full details and booking information are available through Isle of Wight Libraries.
