A four-bedroom house could replace empty office space in the centre of the Isle of Wight’s county town.
Zen Transformations has sought prior approval for a change of use of 29 Pyle Street in Newport.
The town centre property has been vacant for more than 12 months, according to a Design and Access Statement prepared by V&L Architects.
It says:
“The exterior of the building can remain untouched, utilising the existing windows and doors as existing. Internally, minor alterations will utilise the existing main rooms to form the various accommodation found and required within a dwelling.
“The conversion will result in a four-bedroom home with a family bathroom, shower room, living and kitchen spaces. An open yard area to the rear will give the new dwelling some dedicated external amenity space.
“In addition, a single dedicated parking space can be provided in the parking area to the rear of the site.”
The council’s public consultation on application 25/00997/3MAPA ends on August 15 and a decision is due on September 8.
