Fog Forces Suspension Of Red Funnel Vehicle Service

Foggy conditions shrouding Cowes Harbour and the Solent have forced the suspension of Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service this morning (Monday).

Minimum visibility limits set by Cowes Harbour Commission mean the operator is unable to safely run its East Cowes–Southampton route.

Red Falcon is currently holding just outside the harbour entrance waiting for conditions to improve, while Red Osprey remains in port at Southampton.

There is no guarantee when services will resume, and delays are likely to impact operations throughout the day.

The Red Jet between West Cowes and Southampton is continuing to operate, although delays of around 15 minutes are being reported.

All other cross-Solent services are running to timetable.
