The 2026 Isle of Wight Secondary Schools Basketball season has come to an end after a record-breaking year that saw 244 young players compete across five tournaments.
Hosted by Carisbrooke College, this year’s competition made use of expanded facilities, allowing more matches and longer games throughout the season.
In a first for the modern era, five different schools claimed championship titles across the age groups, with Carisbrooke, Cowes Enterprise College, The Bay, Priory and Christ the King all lifting silverware.
Despite the titles being shared, Carisbrooke College finished top of the overall standings with 28 points, narrowly ahead of The Bay and Christ the King on 24.
Organisers praised the Isle of Wight Basketball Board, officials and participating schools, saying the sport continues to go from strength to strength on the Island, with eight schools represented this season.
